Jed Kim is a multimedia journalist based in Los Angeles. He is a regular contributor to Southern California Public Radio. His work has also been featured on NPR, amNewYork and HBO.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Jed lived in New York City, where he worked as a producer for The Takeaway at WNYC. He was also an associate producer for the HBO documentary “Birders: The Central Park Effect.” He was also an intern for “The Buddha,” a documentary by multiple-Emmy-Award winning David Grubin Productions.

Jed received his masters in journalism at Columbia University in 2008. While there he received honors for his deadline reporting. He also co-produced, shot and edited a documentary on BMX riders in the Bronx. A version of that film was featured as part of The Masculinity Project.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio, and after moving all over the US, he is completely bewildered to be in Los Angeles. He reports stories here in the hopes that doing so will help him understand this strange paradise.
